Queer 101: For Family and Allies

June 26 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Free

Join us for a panel discussion on all things 2SLGBTQ+! Learn about what it means to be queer, and how to be an ally to our community.

This panel will be held on Acadia University campus in BAC 138

Featured Guests:

Paige Moreth (she/they) is a public health promoter and educator who focuses on sexual, gender, and reproductive health. She keeps equity, justice, and community at the core of her work, and believes in meeting people where they’re at to help them build healthier relationships with themselves and others. You can usually find Paige managing the Sexual Health Resource Centre at the Acadia Students’ Union, hiking with their dog Edie, or pulling the never-ending weeds in their garden.

Cameron Smith is a local queer (identifying as queer/bisexual who uses she/they pronouns) who has been a part of the valley community for nearly 8 years. Starting as an Acadia student, Cameron got involved in community work including assisting with rewriting the Harassment and Discrimination Policy and helping to create the Sexualized Violence Policy. She worked under the Acadia Sexualized Violence Response and Education Coordinator focusing on consent and sex education, and now does education and training sessions on the Acadia Campus and surrounding community. When not pretending to be a professional, Cameron can be found with a book in their hand and a cat in their lap.
