In June of this year Valley Pride will put on its third annual festival. Valley Pride made history with the first ever full-scale pride festival in Kings County in July of 2023, and replicated our success in June of 2024. Last year, we held 8 events attended by hundreds of community members who came from across the province from Truro to Yarmouth. These events included sold-out shows at the Al Whittle and Kings’ Arms Commons, and a public event attended by over 500 people in downtown Kentville.
In June of 2025, we plan to build upon the last two years of success by expanding our reach to host events all across King’s County and into Annapolis County from Wolfville to Lawrencetown, and many places in between.
As we have been for the last two years, we are working hard to raise money for our festival and to both build awareness of and support for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community in the Valley. Especially now, as trans individuals in Canada, and around the world, are increasingly under attack, it is more important than ever for us to have a visible, proud queer community here in the Valley.
For our festival, we’re organizing a variety of pride events for audiences of all ages, to help make the valley feel like home to all of its citizens. With the costs of venues, performers, sign language interpretation, tech, tents, security, etc, we need the support of generous businesses like yours to ensure that we put on the most successful version of pride possible and, importantly, keep it financially accessible to our community.
I’m writing to ask you to sponsor either the entire festival or specific event in the festival. Our 2025 festival will includes the following events:

- June 24: Community crafting gathering, Lawrencetown
