Sets by Burry and Hierophunk, and spotlight burlesque and drag performances from Elle Lixir, Babia Majora, Misty Towers, and Aaris.
Burry is a bold and boundary-pushing artist from Halifax, Nova Scotia, seamlessly blending indie and pop into a sound that is both fresh and deeply personal. Their music is a vibrant tapestry of raw emotion, striking lyrics, and infectious melodies—inviting listeners into a world where vulnerability meets empowerment. More than just an artist, Burry is a force of authenticity, challenging conventions and encouraging others to embrace their true selves.
HIEROPHUNK (Nicole “Nic” Tufts) is a bass‑driven DJ, producer, and vibe architect known for turning dancefloors into ecstatic moments you won’t soon forget. Blending deep house, breaks, Dubstep and bass with nostalgic throwbacks, HIEROPHUNK brings big energy and undeniable heart to every set. A proud advocate for queer joy and sober‑friendly spaces, she’s the founder of Coastal Vibe Collective and a champion of dance as medicine, community, and straight-up good times.
Recently relocated from Toronto to Halifax, Babia Majora is a trans non-binary artist who saunters all the way along the gender spectrum. Mixing drag, burlesque, and boylesque, they are a winner of Canada’s drag competition Empire’s Ball Season 2, and recognized as one of Canada’s top three Xlesque (non-binary burlesque) performers. Babia combines elements of burlesque’s classic sensuality with drag’s vibrant, larger-than-life persona, creating performances that are both seductive and thought-provoking, while celebrating the freedom to exist beyond the binary.
High Femme, high drama , and higher heels. Misty is a drag DIVA serving glamour, grit, and a splash of delusion. She’s soaked in sequins, powered by lip sync and lashes.
Elle Lixir (she/her) is an Asian-Canadian neo-burlesque artist based in Halifax, NS. She took a deep dive into the art of burlesque in 2021. In 2022, Elle was voted third place in Imperial Burlesque Canada’s, “I Did My Best From My Living Room” virtual category. By 2024, Elle was nominated as a finalist for “Nerdlesque Nobility” in the Silver Tusk Burlesque Awards. She also enjoys producing shows including “BARE-AOKE” and the annual “HOT POT: An All-Asian Variety Showcase” that takes place during May (Asian Heritage Month). Elle also serves on the board for the Atlantic Burlesque Festival. A ‘sweet dose from coast to coast’, Elle has performed all around the maritimes and across Canada in cities such as Toronto, Montreal, and Victoria.
Accessibility Notes:
Entrances: Front door is manual, with a sloped entrance from the parking lot. There is one step in front of the building but smooth access is possible from the parking lot.
Parking: Currently no designated accessible space. Street parking available in front of the shop on both sides of the street as well as a Village lot directly across the street with two marked accessible spots.
Inside: Store and displays are accessible, and there is a wide path throughout the shop. There is a tiered counter to make accessing the coffee services a little more doable for folks in chairs.
Washrooms: washroom is gender neutral and accessible, with grip bars. Unfortunately no power door/lock.
